Fortified
Coffee. Without this magic substance I am but a wreck in the morning. It's amazing how much my thought patterns change after I get my morning beverage. Before I get my fix I am a shell of former self. I function - barely, making kids breakfasts and lunches, tripping over toys, mumbling generic 'hmmmm' and 'is that right?' to the kids incessant chatter. Thoughts of going for a run are met with an inner voice resembling a child "I don't wanna!"
Ah, but once the caffeine has had time to restore my brain capacity I become so much more motivated.
Go for a run? Sure! Tackle those jobs I've been putting off? Today's the day! And then it's sort of a race to get as much done before my mid-afternoon slump. My mind races with plans as I shower, adding to my ever present lists. And what I love is the fact that when I'm consumed with thoughts of work, I'm still happy. My job rocks. I know I'm pretty lucky to have a job that I truly enjoy.
Speaking of work, just as a builder leaves his own house to last, my kids are always the last to be photographed. I decided to remedy this yesterday. And we had a lot of fun doing it.
A sneak peak...
Right, I'm off to go for my run!!
