That pie's already been eaten.

I've been thinking about this blog post for a while, in between shoots and long stints of editing.  I had this saying going through the ol' brain box every time I thought of explaining why it's been so long between posts and the more I thought about it, the less I was convinced that it actually WAS a saying and not just some twisted version of what I was trying to say.  Like when you are convinced that the lyrics of a song are what you are singing, until someone points out that you have it totally wrong.

What I was going to say is "I've been heads down bum up"  as a different way of saying "I've been busy".  But that makes no sense at all, I mean how could that possibly be an effective working pose? and you out there with the dirty minds - get your head out of the gutter.  Jeez.  Also after talking to Taryn I realise there is a game from my childhood called "heads down THumbs up" which may be where I got it from.  Any who, I've now coined this phrase, Just as Phil and I have created the pretty awesome saying of "well, that pie's already been eaten" (AKA that ship as sailed).  Feel free to use either of them.  I'm sure people will be impressed with your vernacular.

So.  To recap.  I've been busy.  But I said that last post.  I guess because it's a running theme.

So what's been happening in the happy world of Tegan?  I'm glad you asked.

Poor Phil has been  head chef for the last few weeks, chief parent in the weekends and my sleep regulator ("go to bed - look at you - you're a mess!")

There have been non working moments of joy -

Tuckered out after we got them up last night to do fireworks in the rain.

I thought they were all hiding to sneak out and scare me (It's not uncommon)  I even went down the hall with exaggerated "hhhmmmm, where is my family hiding..."  but oh.  *contented sigh* just the three loves of my life all dreaming together.

I've loads more to say, but I'm going to go put my kidlets to bed.  One thing before I go - I'm getting a few readers of the ol bloggy now, and I'd love to hear from you!  I know my family are reading, but there are more of you, and I'd love to know what your thoughts are, and who you are...please make a comment!
