Leopard Print and Home Brew
I like today.
My legs are pleasantly tired from this mornings run with mum, my head is pleasantly fizzing from the home brew Kahlua I am sipping and my ears are being pleasantly entertained by my guitar playing husband is singing. Taryn is gently swaying and occasionally joining in with the parts that are familiar to her.
We've done Christmas crafts, visited Santa, stocked up on healthy food for the week and the house is tidy. I signed up another wedding today - I now have 19 in the pipeline, and I'm booked out solid until April next year.
So yeah. Today's pretty good.
And you know what else I like about now? You. I think it's pretty cool that you read what I have to say. Makes me feel kinda cool. I have some readers in other countries, in places I never thought I'd reach, and it makes me smile. So thanks guys. You make me happy too. A mate told me recently that he (and I quote) "reads the shit out of my blog." So shout out to Heath. It was his party that I dressed up in leopard skin tights for. Which, by the way no one guessed correctly.....
I was Peggy Bundy. But with significantly less hair. I tried. I really did. But I'm just not up with the play with that girly stuff and as it turns out I can't create art with my unruly tresses. I put on fake lashes and managed to glue some eyelid skin together in the process. I had to get lessons on applying blush. I had less bust and more waist. Whatevs. I had fun.
Speaking of fun, I know a few of you wanted my Kahlua Recipe so I thought I'd share it here. I make this every year and it is super delicious.
Mix together 2 cups of sugar, 6 cups of water and 8 Tablespoons of coffee (or decaf). Heat until sugar has dissolved. .
Wait until cold and then add 750 - 1000mls of Vodka, 5tsp of vanilla essence and 700 mls of Creme De Cacao. This batch made about 3.5 litres.
Ahhhh. Tastes like awesome mixed with coffee.
You're welcome.
The next few weeks won't really ease up for me (I have 11 weddings over 15 weeks, multiple shoots plus social engagements, and a heavy load of training) but I'm determined to make some happy memories for my kids this summer and really try to be present in the moment.
One last happy to share:
This is what Caity wants us to buy her for Christmas. Just what every three year old wants....
Right, my favourite Christmas movie Love Actually just came on so that's my cue to log of and enjoy it.
Happy Sunday :)
