7 Years of Awesome
We decided that'd she could have a sleep-over in lieu of a party. Better to have a couple of friends over night than fifteen in the house for a few hours. A couple of friends turned into 6, so in the end I had 8 young girls whispering and giggling in the lounge at 10pm on Saturday, and 8 loud girls singing at the top of their lungs 'let it go' at 7 in the morning. They had fun though,so it was worth it.
In seven years, she has taught me so much. I've learned that you can love someone so much it hurts, even though sometimes you feel like sending them away to live in the forest. I've learned that dancing can brighten any day and that it's hard not to burst with pride when you hear of how well she's doing in school or when you watch her do something you didn't know that she could do. I've learned that raising two girls close in age is exhausting and trying at times but so rewarding. I've learned to manage my time to cram in so much in, and to try to stop and take in the beauty of it all. I've totally learned patience (okay still learning that one.) She's so smart and beautiful and hard working and she is confident enough to be the only girl amongst 15 or so boys on the football field every lunch time. She's adventurous and wants to be either an animal rescuer or a ninja when she grows up. In short, she's pretty freaking awesome.
