Dancing in the rain
It's Friday afternoon here and I'm sneaking some time so I can spew out my thoughts to you, my faithful friends, aquaintences and to those of you who have stumbled across my site while searching for something entirely different. Perhaps you are a fan of Tegan and Sarah. Maybe you accidentally clicked on the wrong page. To whoever you are - I'm happy you are here! You now fill the role of my therapist. You'll listen to me but not judge me. And even if you do judge me I won't know because most of you stay silent and choose not to comment. Like a silent stalker. I'm just say'n.
Yeah. Kids have more fun. Most of the time. It is easier for them. Y'know, without the weight of responsibility on their little shoulders. But that doesn't mean that we should forget what it's like to be a goof....
SO. you may have noticed that this isn't my photography blog anymore. Turns out I spent way too much time talking about myself rather than my work. It made sense that I stopped calling it Tegan Clark Photography. I haven't actually come up with a cool name yet but I'll get there. I'll be starting an actual photography blog with recent shoots etc soon. When I catch up with my work. So soon. I hope. You'll find this new blog - at this awesome site here. For those readers here that are just sussing out who I am before you book me to photograph your wedding, you are welcome to keep following me on this site. You know you want to.
Anywhoodle. A few things have happened since we last spoke.
Phil and I did our first event together.
Together we crawled through mud under barbed wire, jumped hay stacks, sloshed through a river and climbed in and out of skips of dirty water. Oh there was some running in there too. And I swallowed a decent amount of soapy water in my first slip n slide in years. In short, the chance to be a kid again. How often, as adults do we really play? Not enough, that's for damn sure. There's that stat...kids laugh a gazillion times a day while adults laugh shit all. Okay, that may be paraphrased a tad. I read on one of those witty thingys the other day something that rang true....
Oh how we all lie. We're lol-ing all over the place and we never laugh. I'm using a collective 'we' here because I know you do it too. 'Cos adults just don't laugh like kids do. Granted, if we found things like the word 'poo' funny we'd never get anything achieved. Okay, it's a little funny. But we should play more often.
My kids rocked out a few classics the last few weeks that I think we should all give a crack at.
1. Trampolines. They still rock.
3. Tickling
4. Swinging on a clothes line
5. Cake. (though I got this one down)
6. Dancing in the rain. In Bare feet.
Yeah. Kids have more fun. Most of the time. It is easier for them. Y'know, without the weight of responsibility on their little shoulders. But that doesn't mean that we should forget what it's like to be a goof....
It's ON Suz. Nerf war. My house.
I'm running out of time so..
In brief - someone turned four the other day.
She's so purdy. And has changed my life forever.
***
And someone has begun her first season of football.
I nearly cried. She's grown up too fast. She's so proud that her daddy is the coach.
Right, I'm off to have some wine with my mum. Until next time... I challenge you to be a big kid. I'll try too.
